Course overview

The course Non Formal Education methodologies applied in Formal Education institutions
promotes and develop methods of implementation of Non formal Education in the Formal
Education institutions the group of participants represent, promoting active learning of
youngsters and young adults, in different sectors.
Throughout the course, participants will work and get to know tools/ receive knowledge on
how to implement NFE in the FE contexts, discussing how to include and be supported by
local or regional partners - active in the non formal education sector.
Participants will:
- Get to know methods which become turn curriculums more attractive for learners;
- Personal and professional fulfilment when equipped with new tools of teaching;
- Be better trained for better career recognition.
The NFE systems benefit from:
- Joining forces in facilitating learning;
- Developing cooperation to have a bigger impact at local level.

Target Groups

Teachers, trainers, youth workers: adults and individuals interested in developing non formal
learning, soft skills and transporting the knowledge into the formal education system.
Educators from secondary education and High schools or technical schools, professors from
Higher Education Institutions and trainers from organisations, policy makers involved in
developing educational or youth policies.
The Training will be focused on the youth and school education sector, with clarifications
related to other sectors, to a smaller extent.

Goals/ Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, the participants will be able to:
* Better understand the difference between formal, non formal and informal learning and how
these learning can support active learning among learners;

* Better implement non formal education into the formal education system, combining
sectors of action;

* Implement non formal education workshops in their daily work and get answers to
questions they may have about it, related to how to better support young people, youth workers, educators, teachers, understand where to look for information for further development related to the topics of the training;

* Have ready workshops, planned using non formal education methodologies into the workplace, adapted to the reality of the participants.

Methodology of work

The course lasts 5 days, divided into 3 thematic days. The sessions include theory-based approach and practical workshops, based on learning by doing workshops, role playing, case studies, teambuilding exercises,  during which the participants explore the tools; and individual planning activities, to transfer the learning into the professional daily life.

Methods of Education in different countries - challenges and opportunities

Day 4: Implementation of learning

Creative Thinking Workshop
Implementation of NFE in FE.

Day 3: Communication / HR Education

Learning by doing and experiencing non formal methods of learning:
Communication workshop - Learning by doing
ICT Resources for Teaching
HR Education - Learning by doing

Day 5: Closing & cultural exploring

Q&As related to the week;
Course evaluation;
Formal evaluation;
Certification of the course;
Cultural visit (optional).

Costs

Tuition fee: 5 days course: 480 EUR, individual participants | 430 EUR per participant, when registering a group
The course includes certificates and materials. Cultural visits are optional and not included in the course fee.
